In the beginning…

Mediterraneo Restaurant began in 1998 when we opened our inaugural restaurant in Westland Nairobi . The restaurant was embraced immediately by the local public and quickly established its reputation. The Patron Stefano Giannetti born in Florence leads his dynamic team in providing elegant and unsurpassed modern Italian cuisine for almost a decade.

After Stefano went into partnership with a good Chef, they opened a second branch in Nairobi. In 2005 he sold off his shares to move to Uganda where he started off with a fast food pizza house, Pizza Connection.

In the last two years Stefano stepped it up and took a bold but confident move to open the Villa Kololo boutique Hotel with 10 rooms of accomodation along with Mediterraneo Restaurant (120 seater) in a beautiful tranquil environment.

But this Mediterraneo Restaurant brand makes its now-two-year strong presence in Kampala after a whole 20 years in Nairobi, Kenya. So, having learnt of Ugandans’ adventurous lifestyle and hospitality, Stefano, after giving Kenya two successful decades of authentic traditional Florentine and Tuscan dishes, decided to move the restaurant to Uganda. High quality standards, thoughtful accents and attention to detail, are what accompany this brand.
